Martha Bruns Okra

60 Days to Maturity. 

Martha Bruns okra is a heavy producer of bright green pods that stay tender up to 5" long. Our friends at the Allen Centennial Garden in Madison, WI produced this wonderful okra crop, which thrived during a difficult growing season.

Direct Seed. Sow at the beginning of the growing season once the threat of frost has passed. Soaking okra seeds in water for 4-8 hours before sowing will improve germination. Okra grows well with warm roots, using black landscape fabric is advisable. Successive large yellow blooms produce green okra pods that stay tender even as they grow. Plants can reach heights of 5 feet.

Lot # ACG-UT-1311-2024: Grown at the Allen Centennial Garden in Madison, WI in 2024. Not certified organic, but grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. Germination rate of 95% in February 2025.

All sales are final and we do not accept returns or exchanges except in the case of delivering the wrong item or recalling specific seed lots due to contamination. For wholesale customers who purchase our pre-filled bundles, we will provide a credit for the following season’s order for any packets returned by October 1st.
